How to integrate the e-commerce feature for WhatsApp into Botmaker?

The e-commerce feature and product catalog group characteristics to integrate products and stores into a chatbot through the WhatsApp channel. Once connected, customers can select products of their interest and manage the entire shopping experience through that channel. The integration for WhatsApp has the following highlights:
- The shopping experience is 100% end-to-end conversational on WhatsApp.
- The shopping cart is associated with the conversation.
- At checkout, it is possible to send the cart result to an external system.
Note : The integration for WhatsApp is limited to 30 products and does not allow combos or product packages with complex variants. On the other hand, only one catalog per WABA (WhatsApp Business Account) is supported.
How to perform the integration?
The catalog integration process for the WhatsApp PLMs (Product List Messages) channel is native to the platform and consists of two specific steps for WhatsApp that are then completed with steps 3 and 4. - Creating the catalog in the Meta Commerce Manager (to be carried out exclusively by your Account Manager)
- Linking to a WABA (to be carried out exclusively by your Account Manager)

Step 1: Catalog creation (this step will be carried out exclusively by your Account Manager)
Ask your Account Manager to create a catalog in Meta Commerce Manager and link it to a WABA. The following process will be performed:
- Access https://business.facebook.com/commerce/ and start the creation of a new catalog.
- Select the catalog type
- Give a descriptive name to the catalog and set the owner as Botmaker
Step 2: Linking to a WABA ((this step will be carried out exclusively by your Account Manager)
- Grant permissions to Botmaker: access the Meta Business Manager. Go to the settings section : https://business.facebook.com/settings/product-catalogs/
- Access WABA and enter the Catalog section.
- Select the catalog and link it
Step 3: Catalog upload
Once your account manager has linked the catalog to the WhatsApp channel (steps 1 and 2), you must continue with the Botmaker catalog upload, including data such as:
- Products (required)
- Categories (optional)
- Stores (optional)
- Service areas (optional)
- Pricing schemes (optional)

Step 4: Intent creation
In the intent that will invoke the catalog, for example, "My Business Catalog", you must configure the Show Smart Ecommerce action and you must activate the WhatsApp Portal switch. Check its details and learn how to configure it in the article How to configure the Botmaker catalog?
