What is the data protection policy?
In line with the European data protection law, - GDPR, for General Data Protection Regulation-, effective as of May 25, 2018, and the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the Botmaker platform makes it possible to delete personal data and files after a time defined by the user.
By clicking on Configuration>Security, you will access the user and file data retention policy section, where you can specify the period of time after which user data (name, email, etc.) and/or files (images, audio, videos, and documents) will be deleted from the platform.
The data retention policy meets two removal parameters:
1. Data
You can select one of the following options:
- Do not delete user data
- Delete all data
- Delete data that identifies the user (name, email, address, etc.). As an extra configuration, you can select variables that you need to keep, for example, those that have a CRM as an identifier. The rest of the data, after the specified period, will be deleted from the platform and will no longer be available.
If you select "delete all data" or "delete data that identifies the user", you must specify how long (in days) the data will be stored on the platform. For example, if you select "delete all data" and specify a retention time of 30 days, messages, users and metrics will be deleted after 30 days.
Note : If you decide to delete all data, this basically cancels the reports and you will not be able to view the details of the conversation. In case of deleting all the data identifying the user, the reports will continue to display the conversation(s) data except the name, email, address, or the data that has been generated in the conversation(s). Big Query data will also be deleted after the period of time you have defined for data deletion.
2. Files
You can also define how long the multimedia files of the messages (audio, video, images, and documents) will be kept. Two options are available:
- Do not delete media files
- Delete media files
If you select "delete media files", you must specify the number of days they will remain on the platform. After this time, they will be permanently deleted. All files sent or received by the bot are also subject to the data retention policy, so you must define the period (in days) after which they will be deleted.
Possibility to hide the WhatsApp phone number.
As an additional security measure, in Configuration>Security, you will also be able to activate the option to hide the customer's phone number on the chats screen. This setting only applies to WhatsApp.
These settings will allow you to manage your project more securely and to control confidential information or information that you consider should not be stored on the platform after a certain period of time.
