What is the Notifications Engine feature in Botmaker?
The Notifications Engine feature allows you to send proactive messages to millions of prospects and customers for loyalty, sales, upselling, or customer care.

What are the advantages of this feature?
Through the Botmaker platform’s notification engine, you can perform the following communication and marketing actions:
- Group notifications and campaigns to manage and measure them according to your goal.
- Generate user groups for future notifications.
- Create user groups with Botmaker contacts and integrated imports from different CRM and collaboration platforms: Salesforce, Workplace, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Possibility to schedule recurring notifications according to your business needs.
- Manage blacklists and default confirmations.
- Through advanced configurations, set sending limits according to the number of notifications and the user’s ongoing conversations (either with the bot or with a live chat agent).
- Track the progress of shipments online with the possibility of cancellation.
- Download the reports of the shipments made.
How is the notifications engine structured?
The notification engine consists of two screens:
- User group with data coming from the Botmaker platform
Through https://go.botmaker.com/#/contactGroups, you will access a tutorial to create a new user group by clicking on + New user group in the upper right corner of the screen. You can create a user group with data coming from the platform (users that already exist on the platform because they had an interaction) or by uploading a file with the user’s data.
You can also get the data by connecting to the CRMs integrated into the platform.
This screen also shows the following details:
- The total number of groups created.
- The erroneous data, for example, if you upload a file with cell phone numbers and some of them are repeated, it reports and ignores them so that the numbers are only loaded once.
- Campaigns and notifications
Through https://go.botmaker.com/#/campaigns, you can create a campaign with a specific target and duration by grouping notifications.
By clicking on +New Campaign in the upper right corner of the screen, you will access the tutorial for the creation of the campaign and notifications.
Then, by clicking on +New Notification, a four-step tutorial will open to create a notification that can be sent to a group of users for a particular channel (e.g. WhatsApp). You can configure users, channels, messages, and notification sending time. In this section, you define which message will be sent (it can be a template in the case of WA or a structured message), set the date and time for sending the notification, and finally create it.
In addition, in General Notifications, you can view the notification history and download a report to obtain the notification details (number of customers who received the notifications, number of notifications read, etc.).
Additional configurations
In Configuration>Notifications (https://go.botmaker.com/#/configuration/notifications), you can configure the following options:
- Schedule hours to send notifications: this allows you to set specific schedules for sending notifications. Outside these times, it will not be possible to send notifications.
- Limit notifications per user: this allows you to define whether the user can receive unlimited notifications or a number of notifications will be defined for a given period. The option to limit by WhatsApp templates is also available.
- Send notifications to users who have been assisted by an agent: this option can be turned on or off as you deem necessary.
